TPS7A88: SCH review

Part Number: TPS7A88

Hi Team,

we are using TPS7A8801RTJT in our design and here is the schematic of it:

Out 1 is used to generate 0.85V from 1.8V input and Out 2 is used to generate 1.8V from 3.3V input.

Regarding Out 1, the feedback resistors selected are :

R1 as 750E and R2 as 12K. Is R1 value of 750E is fine ?

Also R3 and R4 is selected as 1.87K and 1.5K for 1.8V output as recommended in datasheet, table 2.

Thanks in Advance,

Kiran

  • Hi Kiran,

Yes those resistor values will work well. Generally smaller resistor values are better than larger once since the feedback current will cause less error when flowing through the smaller top resistor.

Overall the schematic looks good, the only recommendation I have is that if you are not going to use the PG pins then you can ground them to improve the thermal dissipation of the device. This is not a requirement, floating them is ok.

  • Hi Kyle,

    Thanks for the update.

the only recommendation I have is that if you are not going to use the PG pins then you can ground them to improve the thermal dissipation of the device. This is not a requirement, floating them is ok.

Sure will do that. Thank you.
