UCD3138: Designing a UCD3138 Controlled PSFB

Hello,

I found application report SLUA712 about the design and implementation of interleaved PFC using the UCD3138 for the PFC evaluation board. So, I wanted know if there is something equivalent for the PSFB eval board, ie explaining with code snippets etc the settings and broad functionality of this mode of the UCD3138. Any source available for designing DC-DC converter with PSFB topology using UCD3138.

TI currently has EVM of DC-DC converter with PSFB topology with 400V as input and 12V as output at the power level of 360W. I want to make suitable changes to make it work for 2kW with 400V as input and 48V as output. kindly let me know the approach and required changes that should be done and documents and software to be used.

It's recommended to re-design a board apply for 2KW instead, since your requirement is much higher than 360W, there are so many things to consider, like mosfet, wire, layout,.etc.

As regarding to the firmware, you need modify the output voltage from 12V to 48V, some protection setpoints, like OVP, OCP, .etc. Also, the PID parameters to make sure that the output performance meets your requirements.

I understood the redesigning of hardware part. Kindly let me know more about firmware changes. Can we do it solely using fusion digital power studio? or we will require something else as well.

You should change those parameters configured in the firmware that are related to the FB performance, like voltage setpoint, ocp setpoint, ovp setpoint, PID parameters. So many details about the parameters that are related to the FB performance. I would suggest you take a look at the demo code, and then you may have a better understanding about those parameters that need to be changed.
