TPS7A54: Ferrite bead effects

Part Number: TPS7A54

Hi all,

Customer was wondering how ferrite beads on the bias input affect Vout noise and PSRR? Does it impact it at all?

Thanks,

Lauren

  • Hi Lauren,

A ferrite bead on the bias rail before the bias capacitor (Cbias should always be a direct connection to the bias pin) will not have much effect on the LDO performance since the PSRR of Vbias is already very high. This of course assumes that the ferrite bead does not cause the bias voltage to drop substantially and put the LDO into Vbias dropout.
