TPSM41625: Minimum Cout

Part Number: TPSM41625

Hi team,

I am trying to design a 12vin 1.03 Vout using TPSM41625.
The data sheet recommends 400kHz.
Then, is the minimum output capacity 1044 (= 284 + 760) uF?

Best Regards,

  • Hello,

In the application you detailed with a 78.7kohm RAMP resistor, you are correct that the minimum effective capacitance needed for the design is 284uF or ceramic capacitance plus 760uF of additional capacitance (typically in the form of a low ESR polymer tantalum capacitor) for a total effective capacitance of 1044uF.

Please keep in mind that the values in the table represent the capacitance after the derating due to DC bias is accounted for. Therefore, the selected capacitors must total 1044uF with a DC bias of 1.03V consistent with your application above.

    Regards,
