Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2490, TIDA-00465, PMP20588
HI,
I wanted to know if the above circuit will function properly for a single port PoE standalone application?
Also, does it require a TPS2490 hot-swap controller ?

Hello,
We would recommend one of our single port PSE designs, but they use a newer part.
The TIDA-00465 uses a 54V DC input and an LDO to get the 3.3V rail.

The PMP20588 uses a 12VDC or 24V AC input which is then converted to 54V with a flyboost (like a flyback but the voltage is boosted).

Hello,
in the product folder page under design and development, there is a single port 15W reference design: https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP20981
Please use this, thank you.
