UCC27710: dv/dt requirement on input pins

Part Number: UCC27710

Hi team,

Does UCC27710 have any dv/dt requirement on input pins (HI, LI)? I assume pull-down resister on the input pins and hysteresis input prevents from issues caused by dv/dt like  https://www.ti.com/lit/an/scba004e/scba004e.pdf

Best regards,

  • Hello Takeshi,

The recommendations I usually provide regarding driver input signal rise and fall times, takes into account the driver is usually in an application where there is usually ground bounce or possibility of high frequency induced noise on the driver inputs from the power stage switching events.

In the datasheet there is recommendation that if input R/C filters are used, which is recommended to at least make provisions in the layout, that the time constant of the filter be 20ns or less. This will translate to a mostly complete rising time of ~60ns.

The concern is if there is a slow rising input and the power stage switches and induces high frequency noise on the input, before the input has reached full amplitude, the possible noise induced on the driver input can cause the driver to start false triggering or "chattering".

    Regards,
