BQ24193: Alternatives to BQ24193, ideally with JEITA compiance

The sourcing situation for BQ24193 is difficult. We are therefore looking for alternative parts. Preferred is something pin compatible.

1. Is BQ24193 the only JEITA compliant option in the BQ2419x family?

2. Is there some sort of simple side-by-side comparison table for the options in this series (that we assume largely pin compatible)?

3. If there is no pin compatible option with JEITA compliance, so that a PCB redesign would be an option (still with the same size IC to fit), would any of you have advice on which way to look? I2C control is still required, and charging of a single cell up to 4.35V, with at least the same level of absolute max Vin as BQ24193 (22V).

4. If JEITA compliance is disregarded, would BQ24292I be the suggested replacement to stay close to BQ24193 and lower the sourcing risk?

I continued my own search and came to the conclusion on 1) that it is the only JEITA compliant in the BQ2419x family. Regarding 3) I drew the conclusion that other charger IC with JEITA compliance were typically speced somewhat different, with BQ25672 perhaps being the closest fit.

Question 2 and 4 are still of interest (as well as any corrections to 1 and 3 of course).

Hi,

1. Yes.

2. BQ24192 should be the closet to he BQ24193 in BQ2419x family. The key difference is the temperature profile.

3. You may consider BQ25892 which is almost pin-compatible with the BQ24193 with JEITA.
