TPS2546: AOU issue

We found USB AOU behavior was correct but cannot charge in our measurement.

Q1: Iphone can't charge before SUT enter Lenovo logo UI after press power button to resume from S4/S5 when disable AOU. (FR: 100%)

AOU disable S5->S0, USB-A plug in iPhone
Press pwrbtn clt1, 2 to high but not charge.
No charge until you see the Lenovo logo

Q2: Phone charge state is discharge->charge->discharge then change to charge when SUT under S4/S5 after enable "Always on USB". (FR: 100%)

charger in battery mode enable S0->S5 USB-A plugin the android cellphone
When screen off, start discharge -> charge -> discharge -> charge
Then the fan stopped and clt1 to low.

I apologize for this long delay.

I am trying to understand your system setup.

For case 1, you are toggling CTRL1, but I need to know the state of the other configuration pins to understand what is supposed to happen.

For case 2, I need the same information. The toggle between charge to discharge to charge happens anytiime the internal current limit is changed, so this happening is not suppressing, but I would like address the exact configuration at the beginning of the test and any changes that happen.

Hi Chuck,

Port1, 2, and 3 are respectively CTRL1, 2, and 3 in these waveforms.
Case 2: In this whole process only CTRL1 changes to low. The phone starts to discharge -> charge -> discharge -> charge and then ctrl1 change to low.

Can you add a scope capture that CTRL1 signal and DP and VBUS so that I can see timing?

The scope capture with 2 discharges shows a change in CTL1 which results in a discharge, followed by a connection. It looks like a BC1.2 primary and secondary detection occur and a second disconnect is done to set the final current limit. I think that this is correct behavior.

In the scope capture with one discharge, it appears that a device downstream from the 2546 successfully enumerated the bus, so the device because a CDP and attempted no further communicate.
