UCC27200: built-in bootstrap

Part Number: UCC27200

Hello!

I would like to use the ucc27200 as a bridge synchronous rectifier driver on the secondary side of the phase shift.

Therefore, the HI and LI pins receive in-phase signals instead of anti-phase signals.

Is it possible to drive the high side using the built-in bootstrap circuit?

Or is it okay to supply external power between the HS and HB terminals?

Best regards!

  • Hello ksma,

Just to clarify, you are looking to drive both HO and LO at the same time? It is true that the bootstrap circuit will not be able to charge normally in that condition. Page 23 of the UCC27714 datasheet has a diagram showing a circuit that can fix this issue. Although there is small change you can make to improve the circuit shown here that I can tell you if you are interested in this approach.

A floating power supply from HS to HB also works and is pretty simple if you want to use that approach.

    thanks,
