Hi Team,
I want to choose an N-mosfet to be used in the 18V@12A scenario. I initially chose CSD17318Q2. Is this the best option? Our requirement is small size, low Rdson and Qg.
Thanks
Jenson

Hello Jenson,
Thanks for the inquiry. What type of application is this: switch mode power or load switch/hot swap? Can you share the requirements? The CSD17318Q2 may not be the right choice for this application. The conduction loss at 12A continuous is about 3.4W which exceeds the capability of this FET. Some better choices in 3.3x3.3mm SON are the CSD17577Q3A and CSD17581Q3A.
We have several TI FET selection tools available including load switch, sync buck, sync/non-sync boost at the link below. Please contact me via regular email if you need further assistance.

Hi John,
I check CSD87334Q3D,I want to use it in power tools, is this a suitable choice? Compare with CSD17581Q3A. Which one do you recommend more?
We use in 18V@12A ,20A peak,Requires small size and high efficiency.
Thanks!

Hi Jenson,
The CSD87334Q3D power block will be the smallest solution size with high and low side FETs integrated into a 3.3x3.3mm SON package. It will be higher cost and more power dissipation than the CSD17581Q3A. Another option is the CSD17577Q3A which is lower cost and higher power loss than the CSD17581Q3A but less than the CSD87334Q3D. Attached is the BLDC FET selection tool which I prefilled for your application. Feel free to share this with your customer. I made some assumption on their operating conditions.
Best Regards,
John
