TPS65217: SND9039A2CTRSKT Maximum output capacitance problem

The maximum output capacitance of buck6 is 33uF, can it be changed to 47uF? SND9039A's Buck6 (1.8V) will have a power failure problem when the temperature is below 0 degrees. It has been tested and confirmed that the output capacitor can be increased to 47Uf and it can work normally without power failure.

Hi Gareth,

Please note that the spec is for effective capacitance. In this case, it seems that a 47uF nominal capacitor may show an effective capacitance within the specified range after derating.

But the capacitor derating range is +/- 20%, it over spec

Hi Gareth,

we cannot guarantee operation outside of the datasheet spec. However, we do not generally see performance issues with a little more output capacitance. Another option could be to ensure that the layout is optimized for clean output and feedback of Buck6.
