Customer is asking how to do thermal loss calculation of our TPS23730. Pls help us here.

    Hey Stanley, 

    We use the Semiconductor and IC Package Thermal Metrics (Rev. C) for thermal calculations. 

    The thermal resistance is in the datasheet section 7.4.

    You'll need to calculate the IC power dissipation for this calculation. 

    The power dissipated by the IC will be the power at the pass FET (IRTN*IRTN*RDSon) and the power to drive the gate of the switching FET (VCC*ICC).
