Hello,

My customer is designing a DDR4 memory module for a laptop.

4 or 8 DDR4 memory will be used in this memory module.

The customer wants to use TPS51200DRCT as VTT, VREF power supply for DDR4 memories in this module.

Please let me know if there are any problems with this application.

TPS51200 is able to support DDR4 applications.

Thank you for your reply.

The customer wants to use the TPS51200 to supply the VTT and VREF of the DDR4 memory module below.

However, they want to know how to determine how many connections there is no problem when connecting one TPS51200 to VTT and VREF of DDR4 memory.

Is it okay to use only one TPS51200 for VTT and VREF of the above module? How do you know that?

JH,

The TPS51200 can reliably supply +/- 2A of current before experience large output voltage drops.

Therefore, you can divide 2A by the maximum current of each DIMM to get the total number of DIMMs that each IC can support.
