TL5209: Vin startup request

Hi team,

I have a customer want to design in TL5209 and have a voltage startup request.

The input voltage will at 2.8V when their system startup so they are wondering if TL5209 can meet their request?

    Hi Len,

    I am slightly confused as the what the question you are asking is.

    Are you looking to see if the TL5209 can have 2.8V applied to it when it has not yet been enabled? If so, then yes, the device will have 0V output, but will not be destroyed as the pass BJT will be off, and this is safe operation for the part.

    If the customer is looking for the startup behavior of the device and have tight timing requirements, then on the datasheet figures 32 to 35 define the startup behavior of the device.

    If they are looking for a minimum operating voltage on startup, then yes 2.8V is fine. Under the assumption that their Vout and Iout keep them out of dropout, this part does not contain UVLO so there is not a concern for startup failure.

    If it is not one of these cases, can you please expand on your question and let me know what you mean by "Voltage startup request"
