BQ25713: BQ25713

Part Number: BQ25713

Hi team,

we are using bq25713,for out project ,am able to read all the adc value ,according to that i am able to stop charging ,when the battery vol reached to our limit ,but one problem am facing ,when the battery volatage is very low less than 7,i am giving  precharge current ,it is charging also ,i saw that using volmeter ,but i was not getting the updated value ,in the debug port ,if i remove the dc adapter again connecting back ,am able to see the updated value in the screen ,

lets say now batery vol is greater than 7 ,and i started charing ,i am able to see the value on the screen ,no need to reconnect the adaptr ,but if vol is less than 7 i am unable to see the updated value in debug port unless i remove ,and reconnect the dc adaptor.

please help

Thanks,

smruti

  • Hi Smruti,

Can you give me the following info?

    1. Max Charge Voltage
    2. Fast charge current setting
    3. Pre-charge current setting
    4. Minimum system voltage
    5. Input Voltage

To confirm, you are having trouble reading the ADC value in pre-charge state, right? Which ADC are you trying to read?

Thanks and I hope this helps,

    Peng

  • Hi Peng,

    1. Max Charge Voltage=8400mV

    2. Fast charge current setting=2048mA
    3. Pre-charge current setting=258mA
    4. Minimum system voltage=6400mV
    5. Input Voltage=10496mV

    ADC setting is 0xA0FF

    thanks,

    SMruti

  • Hi Peng ,

please reply .i have given all the values you asked before.

    Thanks,

    smruti

  • Hi Smruti,

Please do not post multiple threads with the same questions. I will delete that other thread. I will reply to your question.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Smruti,

I tested it on the EVM. I can read charge current ADC without any issue (ADCIBAT). I can read the following:

    1. VBAT ~7.8 V (fast charge). Charge current setting = 2048 mA
    2. VBAT ~7.8 V (fast charge). Charge current setting = 256 mA
    3. VBAT ~6 V (pre-charge). Charge current setting = 2048 mA, actual charge current clamped to 384 mA.
    4. VBAT ~6 V (pre-charge). Charge current setting = 256 mA

Tested with the settings you gave with VBUS = 10V. I used default settings, disabled the watchdog timer, and changed the settings to what you described. I confirm there is no issue and I would recommend checking your setups.

Thanks and I hope this helps,

    Peng

  • Hi peng ,

What ever i have given you the adc setting ,is it correct one ??like with the battery voltage is above 7volt i am able to read all the values ,but if it is less than 7volt ,i cant read the battery voltage or any parameter ,always it is showing 2880battery voltage ,suppose i gave one dead battery ..it is showing always 2880,aftr charging little bit ..i hv to remove the dc power then only ,i can able to see the updated logs of battery vol ..

    Can you check again

    Thanks,

    Smruti

  • Hi Smruti,

What if you set "ADC_CONV" to 1?

Or if "ADC_CONV" is set to 0, set ADC_START to start a ADC conversion.

Please see below, it is working for me.

This time, I did a different test with VBAT ~ 6V with max charge voltage set to 8400 mV.

Thanks and I hope this helps,

    Peng
