Current loop sensing and control

Hello,

I am looking for an IC which can sense the current (or voltage across resistor) in a circuit and then control it. That is current in the circuit must be maintained at a constant value always. The max current would be 20mA. Can you please suggest me some ICs for the above functionality.

Thanks & Regards,

Anu

  • Hi Anu,

Thank you for reaching out on the Forum.

All of our current sense amplifiers can either measure current directly or over a shunt resistor. It really depends on the overall requirement, such as supply, common mode voltage, speed, accuracy to name few. Knowing a target current value alone is not enough to zoom in on suitable candidates.

If you haven’t already, you may want to browse our product portfolio here; You can also find plenty of application notes and training material here to help you get started. For example, here is a short video introducing some of the questions to ask in the early stage of choosing a current sensing IC. Hopefully these resources will help you narrow down the number of possibilities.

If you have further questions, I’ll be more than happy to assist.

    Regards, Guang
