BQ76952: Does Load Detect function can be enable all the time?

Hi Team,

BQ76952 load detect function is useful for customer, and they wish to keep it enable all the time. Do we have any method to meet the requirement?

Register Protections:Load Detect:Timeout can be set to maximum 65535 hours, almost 7.5 year. But customer is working on a product >10 year lifetime, so 65535 hours isn't enough.

    Hi Wiky,

    The timeout occurs if they have a short circuit, the FETs turn off, and the device is checking to see if the short has been removed.  So they would only experience this maximum timeout if a short circuit occurred, the FETs turned off, and the short circuit stayed present for 65535 hours.  The load detect function is still operating that entire 65535 hours (turning on/off the current source at the programmed intervals to check).  Is this really the case they are concerned about"

    If they have a uC in the system, the uC can send the 0x009D LOAD_DETECT_RESTART() command if the timeout occurs, and the timer will restart again.
