BQ76952: Balancing resistor selection

Hi,

I am using bq76952 for BMS AFE and internal balancing FETs for balancing.

So how I can select balancing resistor value.

I|_bal= V_cell/(2*R_bal+R_ds_on) Can I use this equation for resistor selection?

And do you have any documentation for each component selection associated with BQ76952 AFE in detail?

Hello Nidheesh,

Yes, you can use that equation to select a resistance for internal cell balancing.

We do have a Cell Balancing with BQ76952 application report that will be useful. The minimum resistance you should put for the resistors when using internal cell balancing is 20-Ohm.

Component selection values for different pins can be found in the datasheet.
