UCD3138064: Boot flash program

Part Number: UCD3138064

Hi,

I'm working on a custom 2kB bootloader for the UCD3138064.

Where can I find some example code of a 2kB boot flash program on the UCD3138064? Preferably using UART as the communication interface as a command interface for programming the main program flash.

Is it possible to move the vectors (interrupt ++) in the main program (not at address 0) after the boot flash program jumps to the main flash program? Or must the vectors reside in the 2kb boot flash?

  • Inge, if you want to request to friend me on the forum and then send my your email, I can send you a UART boot flash example program.

The vectors have to stay at the low location, they cannot be moved.  The boot flash program doesn't need any interrupts, so what we do is make an interrupt vector table in the main code, and set the vectors in the 0 - 0x1F area to jump to the vectors in the main code, for example at 0x800 to 0x81f.  The reset vector at 0 points to the start of the boot flash.  The boot flash jumps to 0x800 to start the main program.  It adds a little time to the interrupt, but the main program is free to put its interrupts wherever it needs to.

  • I see you're already a friend, so I sent you a link.

  • You asked in a personal message about the file pflash_pp_default.exe, which I believe formats a .x0 file as text for use with a serial interface program like hyperterminal.  I put it in the folder which I am sharing with you.

Please ask all questions in the E2E in the future.  For a variety of reasons from making the answers generally available to the ever present legal liability, I'm not supposed to answer questions in personal messages.

I don't know where the source code is for this program.
