TPS54326: TPS53312 (TPS54326) max duty cycle?

Part Number: TPS54326
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53312

Hi,

I check datasheet and the TPS53312 can support input voltage range is 4.5~18V.

My customer design is output voltage=1.8V, the input voltage=4.5V is ok for the design, right?

The other question is the device has max duty cycle spec?

For example, if output voltage design is 5V, what is the min input voltage requirement?

  • Jim,

Vin-> Vout conversion is mostly limited by the min off-time. Typically I have seen above 65% duty cycle run into min off-time issues on this part. I would expect 4.5V -> 1.8V to work. For 5V output, a rough estimate on min Vin is 7.7V without considering lossy duty cycle of 65%. You might be able to pull off slightly lower VIN depending on the load current and other parasitics like inductor DCR and switching frequency variations.

    Thanks,
    Amod
