Hi, TI Support Team

I am reviewing development using the LMR14030SQDPRRQ1 product from a customer.

Please review the circuit diagram attached below.

Please respond to any further inquiries.

1. Please explain in detail about the Spreadspectrum function.

- How does this function work?

- Please explain how EMI is improved.

2. It will be used as Main DC/DC for VBAT power.

- Please provide data or advice on how to design options that can be improved for CE and RE in the attached circuit.

    Hi MJ,

    Checking circuit:

    1. R10 75 is too big, it should below 20ohm

    2.  L18 10uH should be shield core for low EMI

    3. There should be EMI filter on input.

    LMR140X0 has spread spectrum feature to dither the switching freq on +/-10% range thus to reduce noise peak on a narrow band.

    You may also design the metal shield option for LMR140X0 section(input cap, IC, inductor) on PCB layout.
