Battery charger_issue_BQ25601RTWR

Hi TI Team,

Let us say, We are using the part BQ25601RTWR in our current design and we are facing an issue with the input source.

Without battery, only with the input source (WIR_VCC_SYS =4.2V), there is no output voltage but at the boot pin can see 3.6V and there is no voltage at the switching node.

Without/with input source and with battery circuit working fine, getting proper voltage at VCC_SYS.

Any suggestions why is this happening?

  • Dear Team,

Since the input voltage (WIR_VCC_SYS =4.2V) is below the threshold voltage i.e Default: VINDPM 4.5V (0110), After some modification in VINDPM register that means set to 3.9 V (0000) started detecting input voltage (4.2V). In this case, if I change register VINDPM to 3.9V to detect my input voltage 4.2V it will detect in the current board.

But the concern is in the newly assembled board, there always detect input voltage only when the input voltage is beyond 4.5V (i.e Default: VINDPM 4.5V (0110))

In the design, I have no option to change WIR_VCC_SYS =4.2V to 4.5V to detect my input voltage in the newly assembled board case.

What could be done for this?
