CAN Transceiver IC / BCI Test.

I have BCI Fail problems.

The application is Air purifier for Automotive.

I tested with CM Filter, LC Filter, MLCC etc... There is no any improvement.

Would you please give me advice..?

I attached Main Power input circuit and CAN Communication Circuit.

How can i make that OK for BCI test?

I am planning to add PI filter for Main power, and CM Filter for CAN Communication, as below.

Please share your opinions for them.

  • Hi  경환 손,

Which device are you testing? Similar TI part numbers to the competitor device here would be TCAN1042 or TCAN1044A.

Which test standard are you following for the Bulk Current Injection (BCI) test ? J2962? What levels are being used?

Could you share information on the test failure? Communication error? Waveform tolerance violation? False wakeup?

Because 8-pin CAN devices don't have a direct connection to battery, much of the BCI tolerance from the supply will also depend on the 5V regulator. Can you share more information on the IC and circuit used to generate the 5V supply? Have you seen issues with other CAN transceivers while using this same supply?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
