Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC2818A, UCC28180
Hi,
This is my first time designing AC to DC converters, especially in the high power domain.
The end application will be a grinder and the main motor will be a BLDC in the the range of 350W to 750W and the DC voltage will be around 350V to 400V, apart from an isolated second stage to feed a lower 3.3V logic.
I learned about CCM and CrCM and saw that the suggested solutions for this power range are either 1 phase CCM or interleaving CrCM.
I saw this part UCC28019A and it looks subtitle for my application.
My questions are, since I am way far from my comfort zone:
1. This part does not state that it will meet regulatory standards like EMC restrictions and specifically the IEC-6100-3-2, will it do? (I know I will need to create an input filter).
2. I saw many more parts that work with the same CCM technique but are much more expensive - I don't understand the differences. For example why is this part UCC2818A better (or what different about it).
Thanks,
Tomer
