I have a question about the BQ25890H single cell charger IC. After checking the evaluation board a few months ago, we built our first prototype boards per EVM schematics.
On the prototype board the VSYS is without battery 3.65V , which should be normally 4.2V and with battery connected, it follows the battery voltage which was for instance 3.85V. Connecting external power source @ 12.5V & 3.5Amax the BQ doesn't start charging. Power source consumption remains at 3mA and the LED is blinking @1Hz as if the battery was not present.
When load is present up to 2Amps that was tested, no abnormalities detected, even with/without battery and both sources connected.
The registers setup was carried over from the EVM which worked as it should.
Do you have any suggestion about what the problem could be?
