UCD90160: Intermittent Write Failures

Part Number: UCD90160

I see from a previous post that to clear Fault Logs, the following command should be issued:

address + 0xEA + 0x12(length) + eighteen zeros

However, issuing that command fails over i2c fairly frequently with the error message "No such file or directory". I've noticed if I run a PAGE command first, the Clear Fault Log write command does not fail as often. Do I need to do any other set up to ensure a write success to 0xEA?
