LMG3425R050: Output Discharge

Part Number: LMG3425R050

Hi,

We are trying to evaluate LMG3425R050 on the EVM.

I think that the load discharge is necessary when the evaluation system turns off because the remaining charge on output is dangerous.

How do you discharge the output when evaluation? Did you use resistance or anything else?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hi Kuramochi,

Thank you for your question. What kind of evaluation circuit are you using? The load on the EVM should consume the charge on the output capacitor when the converter is shut down.

    Thanks,

    Noah

  • Hi Noah-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

    >What kind of evaluation circuit are you using?

I will use the EVM and electric load.

    >The load on the EVM should consume the charge on the output capacitor when the converter is shut down.

Does it mean that you(TI) do not prepare the discharge circuit when evaluating?

  • Hi Tadahiko-san,

Are you using the EVM in buck mode? Or is the configuration being changed for something like a double pulse test?

In regards to your second question, you don't need a discharge circuit for the output. Because of the load, the output voltage will naturally drop really fast when shutting down. Is this what you were asking?

    Thanks,

    Noah

    In buck mode.

What does it mean shutting down?

I think that LMG does not have the shutting down function except for the protection function.

  • Hi Tadahiko-san,

By shutting down I mean end the testing, turning off the DC source.

    Thanks,

    Noah
