Good Morning,

We have a customer who purchased the subject PN from us and are now calling into question the top marking on the devices we have shipped them. According to the datahseet, there is no references to the top marking that we have sent them. Can you please assist me in helping to ensure the customer that the parts that were ordered from us are correct? I have included a picture of the top marking for your reference as well:

I'm checking with the production folks, but in the meantime, are you sure it's supposed to be a 128 and not a 128A? The 128A is fairly backward compatible, but there are some changes.

Hello Ian,

I am sure it is the 128 device and not the 128A. No PCN's about the marking that I can find either and from historical datasheets it looks as though the marking does not change.

We have found a record of devices with that marking. It's a very small lot of customer samples from 2015, before the 128A was released to manufacturing.

We do believe that it is a 128A, however, not a 128.

Most of the 128A is compatible with the 128, but there are some significant changes. They are described in the UCD3138128A Migration guide here:

I'm not surprised that these parts have surfaced in this market environment.
