LM5123-Q1: LM5123-Q1 Boost Controller Quickstart Design Tool

Part Number: LM5123-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5122, LM5170

Hi team,

I plan to design >>400W boost regulator using LM5123-Q1.

I found LM5123-Q1 Boost Controller Qucickstart Design Tool on TI.com, but it only seems to support <100W.

Output current is automatically filled by Imax = 100/Vout.

Could you advise if there is a calculation sheet that support >400W?

regards,

  • Hi Shingji,

Based on our experience, the LM5123 can support up to 200~300W without much problem.  For >400W, we would recommend multiphase, and the LM5122 seems to be a more suitable choice for multiphase configuration.    You may also consider the LM5170 in boost configuration.  The standard EVM is 700W solely limited by the inductor available when designing the EVM.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
