Hi,
Since the internal current sensing resistor is between SYS and BAT pin, what would happen if user short SYS and BAT pin?
Under IEC62368, is this one of the test conducted (short between SYS & BAT pin)?
Thanks,
Christina

Hi Christina,
Since the regulation feedbacks no current due to the short between SYS and BAT, the regulation loop will increase the regulation point trying to increase the current so the SYS voltage would reach to the point that the pack protection FETs would be triggered to be turned off to protect the battery.
For IEC62368 test, there is a test of short BAT to GND, but no SYS to BAT short test.
Best regards,
Eric
