BQ76200: BQ76200 output CHG and DSCHG is issue

Part Number: BQ76200

The output voltage of the charging  and discharge MOS are abnormal and cannot be turn on when use 20 parallels MOS, VDDCP voltage is only 9.1V.

  • Hello User,

What is your VDDCP capacitance? With increased FETs in parallel, the VDDCP capacitance needs to increase too. It is possible the charge pump may be over-loaded with the amount of FETs, we talk about overloaded charge pumps in Section 2.1 Charge Pump of the bq76200 Beyond the Simple Application Schematic application report.

Do you have 20 FETs per DSG and CHG? So 40 total between the two of them? Or 10 CHG FETs and 10 DSG FETs?

Make sure to size the VDDCP capacitance appropriately based on the number of FETs you are using and their gate capacitance. Read the FET Configurations for the bq76200 High-Side N-Channel FET Driver application report, it goes into detail as to how to calculate the required capacitance based on the total number of FETs used.

    Best Regards,
