TPS65218: X-ray result

Hi There,

We have done X-ray on samples of  TPS65218B1RSLR and noticed there are physical connections on Pin 28 and Pin 29, where according to datasheet, there should be no connect for these 2 pins. Could you please help to advise if this is normal?

    Hi Frank,

    Thank you for using E2E! What you are seeing internally is normal. The device datasheet specifies pin#28 and pin#29 as N/C because there shouldn't be any external connections on those pins; They should be floating. That doesn't necessary means there is no internal connection to those pins in the package. 

    I also wanted to add the following note: TPS65218B1 continues to be in production to support existing customers but it is not recommended for new designs. TPS65218D1 is the new alternative that was released with upgraded functionality.
