Isolated Power Supply Solution

Hi all,

I was wondering whether TI has a solution for an isolated power supply. The stats are as follows:

5V In

1-5W power transferred (0.2 to 1A input current)

switching speed between 50khz and 1M

There are a number of possible different output flavours:

1) 5V Out

2) +/- 5V Out

3) 30V Out

Preferably the chip would work with (or even suggest) commercially available transformers.

Any suggestions?

It sounds the design would need isolation as mentioning available transformer. or you are referring to an inductor actually. Can you please confirm this and if so, what level isolation/insultion is required?

The design will need a transformer with 4k-5kV isolation. This may not be commercially available (very few are at that rating), however, the above ones with lesser ratings are a good start for test designs. We are mostly resigned to the fact that the transformer is likely to be custom to get the hi hipot value needed.

For a bit of background, the power supply is to take power across an isolation barrier to power a few gate drives or encoders etc.
