UC1834: Input Common mode voltage range

Part Number: UC1834

Hi,

Trying to juice out all I can from this IC (quite versatile I would say with an integrated reference and high current capacity compared to a standard opamp). The intended application is to use the IC to generate 0-100V, 5mA supply. Before testing this, need to confirm the Input common mode voltage range of error amplifier in the IC. The datasheets shows characterization from 0.5V to Vin-2V. Is there any tested/design data available with any team in TI?

Thanks

  • Hi Nandha,

Unfortunately this device predates most of the repositories that are now used to store design information, and I don't have access to any information for UC1834. This application note says that the common mode range for the current sense amp goes to the rails, but does not say for the error amp. So, I think the only indication of the common mode range is what is specified in the EC table.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Thanks Nick,

I will have to select a different device with input rail capability of Vin-
