UCC14240-Q1: UCC14240-Q1

Part Number: UCC14240-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6505A

I require the lib file for

UCC14240-Q1, as i need to model the gate driver in  SABER, if any gate driver resembling this part , you can also share.

  • Sayan,

The UCC14240-Q1 is currently released as Advanced Product Launch (APL). this means the product is still in development until it is released to manufacturing (RTM). We are developing a simulation model for UCC14240-Q1 in SIMPIS/SIMetrix but do not currently have plans for supporting SABER models. The Simplis model is planned to be available in the UCC14240-Q1 product folder inQ2, 20222. thanks for connecting through E2E.

  • Hi Steven,
Thanks for your quick response . Is there any existing LIB file which will nearly mimic the  behaviour of UCC14240-Q1 , if it is there please share .

  • Sayan,

UCC14240-Q1 is unique because the transformer, control and power stage are fully integrated into a single IC package. As such, there is no other product similar from this regard. Since you originally asked about gate drivers and I assume you mean isolated gate drivers, you can search for those parametrically here and begin by selecting between functional/basic iso vs reinforced iso. You will then need to enter each product folder for the gate driver you are interested and see what models are offered. Most of TI's new development products are leaning toward Simplis models as the main sim model most desired by our customers.

If, for the purpose of simulation, you only need a bias supply sim model, take a look at the SN6505A product folder and you will see various sim models available but this product is an open loop driver that uses an external transformer to develop gate drive bias and is very different compared to UCC14240-Q1.

UCC25800-Q1 is another example of a more recently developed bias driver product. This one uses a resonant topology for lowest EMI and only has a Simplis model available in the product folder.

By the way, can you please send me an email with your name, title, company name, project use, end equipment, what models you require and which platform (Simplis, PSPICE, SABER, etc) you are using? You can send to me at s-mappus@ti.com. Your inputs are valuable for helping my team understand which models customers like you asking for and how they are being used.

Thanks for considering TI IC products and good luck with your design.

    Steve M
