Hi,

How do we select the resistor and zener as shown in the image above. What purpose does it solve?

The reference schematic TIDA-01617 shows resistor network with common zener. Is it okay to use common zener?

    Hi Akash,

    The pull-down circuit consisted by resistor and Zener is used for ghost cancellation. For LED matrix, ghost issue happens due to parasitic capacitance on every switch line. So that a pull-down path is needed to discharge the parasitic capacitor when the switch line is open. It is OK to use a common Zener.
