TLC59283 --> zener diode protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC59283

Hi all,

I'm designing a RGB LED Screen with TLC59283 and I've seen on the datasheet that in the configuration normally is used a Resistor+ zener diode (as a protection I can imagine).

In my design the maximum current that will be flowing through the common anode track (per row) is 16 rgb LED x 20 mA x 3 LED = 0.96 A. So how can I calculate the resistor and zener value to protect the circuit?

If in my design I have 8 rows I should use 8 resistors + 8 diodes zener (one per MOSFET), is that right?

Thanks in advance

Abel
