hi can you tell me what is possible impact if pull up resistor at RESET is fail short? can it damage the device ?

Ito-san,

Yes. Since this is an open-drain output, a short on the pull up resistor could expose the internal transistor to excessive current and cause permanent device damage.

I have similar questions

1. when SENS pin is exposed to 9V, what would happen? the device is damaged in short mode? if the pin is damaged, what the RESET pin state would be?

2. if SENS pin could be damaged by 9V, would it be possible to protect the pin with series resistor (usually the pin could be protected if there is ESD diode connected to supply.)

1. Abs max rating on th eSENSE pin 6V. Stresses beyond the Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device or affect device reliability

2. Unfortunately we do not have an application circuit recommendations for this.
