Hi,

i am planning to use this chip for 7" LCD driving,would like to get schematic reviewed by an expert

Please find the attached schematic for TPS65100PWP, i would like to get schematic verified from expert team

below are the voltage levels required for the 7" LCD operation with their range

LCD_10.4 (10.2 to 10.6)

VGH+16V (15.3 to 16.7)

VCOM_3.7 (3.6 to 4.0)

VGL-7V (-7.7 to -6.3)

VCC3.3_L (3.0 to 3.6)

Let me know if any changes required

Hello,

I reviewed and the schematics looks good overall. For Vin=5V, I would suggest to start out with compensation capacitor (C5) value of 2nF.

Hi Liaqat,

can you please elaborate,how i am able to see the difference in any voltage/waveform after changing this capacitor value & how this will practically benefit the circuit functionality?

Hello Amol,

You cam measure load step response of the converter at the maximum load change in your application and see if the output voltage perturbation in response to sudden load change is acceptable. Datasheet recommends 2nF Cc for for 5V input supply and that is why I recommended that value. The optimum value for Cc will produce the smallest voltage step at the output for a sudden load change.

Hi Liaqat,

1. Do i also need to replace R5 to 6K?

2. just referring Ti app note on compensation, where it shows R & C in opposite sequence as compare to datasheet typical application diagrams, what is your view on the same?

Hi Amol,

For 5V input supply to converter, I would suggest to start out with standard value Cc=2.2nF and Rc of 10K and measure load step response in the application to see if it is adequate for application needs. If adjustment are needed, you can adjust Rc down. Rc can be calculated based on equation 4 in the application note linked below but ultimately it is the adequate load step response measurement in the application that should adjust Cc/Rc values.
