LM34936: Asking for the LM34936 design suggestion for Dell monitor

Part Number: LM34936
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65987DDJ

Hi Sir,

My customer would like design two LM34936 in Dell new two type C port monitor project.

Would you please review  schematic and provide your comment?

Thanks for help!

  • Hi Scott,

will review the schematic but might need 2-3 days to finish that.

    Best regards,

     Stefan

  • Hi Scott,

i had a first review on the schematic but this does not show the input and output parameters.

(input voltage range and output voltage and current)

Can you check with the customer what that should be for the two converters. This would make the review much easier.

    Thanks,

     Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

    thanks for feedback.

please refer to the Vout here. for 5V, 9V and 15V case, the output current is 3A. for 20V case, it is 4.5A.

you can see the true table in schematic.

  • Hi Scott,

i have reviewed the schematic and it basically looks OK.

I have not found the input voltage range, so i assumed 4.5 to 22 V based on the TPS65987DDJ.

I see some issues on the compensation. So this parameters should be checked and updated.

Best would be to check this on the real board and adjust this values based on the measured data from there, so that it would also consider the board parasitic.

    Side notes:

    • C7711 says close to U1507 but should be U7700
    • C7739 says close to U1507 but should be U7702
    • the 2k in VISNS is only required for input voltages > 40V

    Best regards,

     Stefan

  • Hi Scott,

I have not seen an update on this thread for the last 7 days.

If the issue is solved it would be great to press the is solved button.

If there is still something open, just let me know with the new details.

    Best regards,

     Stefan
