BQ34Z100-G1: Setting CC Gain and CC Delta

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO,

Hello,

I'm following the design steps in the data sheet and on step #4 the CC Delta and CC Gain parameters are instructed to be set. My shunt is a 0.001ohm shunt. I was having some issues setting CC Gain to 1.000 but after trying several times bqStudio accepted the "1" setting. Now I'm trying to do the same for the CC Delta but I can't get bqStudio to accept any number less than 4.759. Is my shunt value too small for this setting?

I also see that the default value for CC Gain is 10.124 in the EVSW, I saw this in bqStudio. (assuming EVSW == bqStudio) But when I apply the DF to EVSW conversion as listed in the bq34z100-g1 data sheet Table 21, I find that the minimum value for EVSW is actually 47.68 but then how is the default 10.124?

I get this result for CC Gain by using this arithmetic:

DF to EVSW Conversion = 4.768 / DF (as called out in Table 21 in the datasheet)

CC Gain DF minimum value = 0.1 (as called out in Table 20 in the datasheet)

4.768 / 0.1 = 47.68

Best,

Nick
