Is there any adjustment to the under voltage lockout on the PTN78020 or am I stuck with a preset?
Robert:
There is no UVLO adjustment or control on the PTN78020 series. The only suggestion is to control the inhibit pin on-off by delaying it with an open drain FET.
We are using the inverting version PTN78060A.
Can the inhibit pin be utilized?
What is the function of the other undocumented pin (3 or 5). Wondering if we can externally sync to a 691kHz signal.
Dan::
Pin 3 is the inhibit pin control on-off function ..It can be left open or controlled by a open Drain FET. This is a low level DC voltage.
Pin 5 is a voltage adjustment .Rset pin. This pin controls the output voltage.
The unit does not have an external sync. capability. The internal frequency range is internally fixed form 440 kHz to 660kHz with typical output frequency of 550kHz .
EMC or switching/ripple noise on both input bus and output bus can be attenuated by adding PI filters to either or both input and output buses near the module. The application note within the PTN78020WAD product specification pages 19-21 attached can be used to reduce input and output noise.
