BQ76952: Cell-balance current on VC16 is lower then other cells

Part Number: BQ76952

Hi team,

My customer is doing BQ76952 testing with 15 cells connected(VC15 floated).

The cell-balancing current through VC16 is around ~1mA lower then other cell.  Is there any difference for the balancing current of VC16 comparing to other VCx?

Regards,

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Do they have a cell between VC16 and VC15? This is required as shown in the datasheet - see the section on unused pins.

The cell balancing current is determined by the cell input resistors along with the internal cell balancing FET resistance which is 28 ohms nominal, but the range of this resistance can vary (see section 7.20 in the datasheet).

    Best regards,

    Matt
