BQ76942: issue with Vcell mode

Part Number: BQ76942

Hi,

I have the 5S pack connected to bq76942 evm and have followed the directions. I have cell connected in Cell 10, cell 1,2,3,4. I have shorted cell9 to cell 8, cell 8 to 7, cell 7 to 6, cell 6 to 5 and cell 5 to 4 in EVM.

So, I have Vcell mode set at 020F.

The issue I have is:

1. Is this correct 020F for 5S pack

2. Why does everytime I import the gg file through bqwizrd and write in the memory, the EVM restarts and loses all the data .

3. All my cells are at or above 3.5V , I dont know why I have PF enabled. Is there a way to figure out what is causing this PF, like CUV or COV or anything like that. Need some information on what is causing this PF alert

3. 1488.test.gg.csv

  • Hi Subrat,

I tested these settings on my board and I think they should work. Your VCell Mode register is correct. To debug, it might be good to set the Shutdown Cell Voltage to zero and then check all of your readings to make sure everything looks as expected. You could also set the Low V Shutdown Delay to a longer time to give yourself more time to see what is happening.

The 'PF' bit you are seeing in the Registers screen is in the Alarm Enabled register which just means that PFs are enabled. It is not showing in the Alarm Status register.

    Best regards,

    Matt
