TPS552882: OpVal webench error

Hi team,

I simulated TPS552882 with Webench but the simulation is failed in the specific situation.
The error is "OpVal table param temperature > 150°C."

When Vin=9~20V/Vout=10V/Iout=5.5A, simulation is failed but Vin=9~20V/Vout=10V/Iout=7A simulation is successed.
I don't know why the simulation is successed although Iout is increased.

Customer's use case is Vin=9~20V/Vout=10V/Iout=5.5A which the webench fail the simulation. Can I recommend this device with the condition?

Hi Koyo,

It looks like webench simulation has some problem.

For customer's use case Vin=9V-20V, Vout=10V, 5.5A, TPS552882 is suitable for this case.

Do you know what is OpVal?
When Iout>8A, the error is "Max junction temperature exceeded". So it seems OpVal error is not related to junction temperature but seems OpVal is related to temperature.

Hi Koyo,

Need webench modeling team to take a look at that if you want to find the reason.

I guess the reason is in the webench default design, they use 10mohm as default output current sense resistor, which limits the maximum Iout to 5A or 6.5A.
