BQ76940: BQ76940 VC10X and VC5X, CAP pin

Hello,

My name is Babu and I am using BQ7694002 IC for my 8S series cell configuration. I would like to know the exact usage of the following pins as in the pdf, the information was confusing,

1) VC10x and VC5x

2) CAP1, CAP2 and CAP3 pin

3) I am using the VC5b and VC10b pins, then will it be necessary for me to use the VC10x and VC5X pin?

4) Could you suggest me what to do with the unused pins in this as I am not interested to use REGSRC and REGOUT, Thermistor pins ?

The VC10X and VC5X pins are important power pins for the device. The CAP1, CAP2, CAP3 are important pins for internal voltage regulators. REGSRC must be powered since it is used for the FET driver outputs and other internal circuits. The BQ769x0 Top Ten Design Considerations document is also very helpful along with the BQ769x0 FAQ document.

Thank you for the information, could you please let me know whether we can can use this BQ7694002DBT IC for 4s cells and 8s cells

Hello Babu,

No, the BQ76940 can only do 9s to 15s. If you want 8s, you'd have to use the bq76930. For 4s you'd need the bq76920.
