UCC28950: Simulation files does not work with different MOSFET

Part Number: UCC28950

Hi Everyone,

I want to simulate a PSFB using the slum169b files.

with all the original components everything is working but I want to change the MOSFETs:

First, I used Infineon OPTI-MOS models but then I got errors like "pspice for ti supports a minimum of one and maximum of three traces..." which i did not understand how to fix.

Then I used the POWER MOSFET under Modelling Application and the results is that only OUTA and OUTC is working but other outputs does not seem to work at all.

Can anyone help me identify the problem?

  • Hello,

The free TI PSpice does limit the circuit and that is why they provided the models you can adjust.

You have two outputs on your H Bridge A and C since changing the FETs.  You might want to just start by changing one FET to the POWER MOSFET and setting the device parameters up to match the FETs used in circuit to see if you can get it to run.

Just changing the FETs should not have stopped the outputs from coming up.  If they deed maybe the FETs you have added are some how loading down the outputs of the UCC28950.  You may have to add buffers to the outputs and/or the gate drives are not strong enough to drive the POWER MOSFET you have added.

    Regards,
