TPS26600-02EVM: Device doesn't stay off in 'Latch-off' mode

Hi Team,

We're using the TPS26600-02EVM and set the device to 'Latch off' mode using J4 (pins 1-2 shorted) , J5 set to 7-8 position.

We're using 12V / 300mA and when we toggle the load the device disconnects correctly but does not stay latched off.

Can you please advise ?

Hi Nir,

The overload event should cause enough power dissipation in the device to trigger thermal shutdown (TSD) .. then the device latches-off.

In your case with 200mA and slight overload of 300mA, the condition is not resulting TSD. Please refer below thread and let me know if further clarification is needed.

Test at higher Vin or heavy overload to observe the latch-off behavior.

If latch-off function is needed for slight overload case, TPS2662 would be right part. It has max current limit time out to turn-off the path.
