BQ25792: VBAT dropping

Part Number: BQ25792

(Please refer to the related topic for project information)

In some cases, even after the CHG_STAT = “Charge Done”, VBAT ~= Charge_Voltage (12.9V) and VBUS_PRESENT_STAT = 1, after a fews hours the VBAT drops to 12V or 12.5V (Charge_Voltage_Limit = 12.9V). When this happens, CHG_STAT still in “Charge Done” and REG33_IBAT_ADC_H = 0 mA.

  • Hi Rodrigo,

I am not aware any issues with recharge.  The charger regulates based on BATP voltage.  Is the the 12 or 12.5V measured at that pin?  If you change the recharge threshold in REG0x0A to lower setting, does the charger start charging? Does toggling the /CE bit or pin restart charge. This could be related to the board layout.

    Regards,

    Jeff
