TPS54678: Running Loop stability analysis in PSPICE for TI

Hi Team,

I would like to know if it is possible to use our PSPICE models for our buck converters to run a loop analysis to determine stability.

If it is possible do I use the steady state or transient model? also, do you have an example PSPICE file? (doesn’t need to be the TPS54678)

Hi Mitchell,

To run a bode plot, you need an average model. You can run a load transient to check stability with a transient model.

In any case, the TPS54678 is quite old and large. Can the TPS62867/9 (or the TPSM82866A module) work instead for your power needs?

Hi Chris,

Understood. The TPS54678 was choosen because of availability and p2p options on the market.

Do we have any PSPICE Buck Bode Plot examples?

The average model package (SLVM610A) has a loop response setup. Is that what you need?
